BLUMENORT, Man.—On May 26, 2019, we had a baptism service officiated by Pastor Anthony Reimer. Katherina Sawatzky committed her life publicly before the Lord through baptism. Angela Doerksen gave her testimony, and both young ladies became covenant members here at Blumenort EMC.
We are looking forward to the excitement of summer programs starting up once again. VBS is the last week of June with many community children coming through the doors for this event, ending with church in the park on June 30. As well, camp is beginning in July and running through August. This is something that is enjoyed by many children, youth and staff. We pray for safety and a smooth season at Eagle Lake Bible Camp for all that attend, volunteer their time, and the camp staff. Because of a shift in pastoral positions in the church, Vince Kehler will be the camp director starting this summer.
Many new changes have been happening around the church building these last few months. We started an interior update early this year, which included upgrading the sanctuary seating, sound system, rug, paint, stage and lighting. The basement kitchen and common room also received an upgrade in flooring, paint, and some cabinetry. There were many other upgrades in the main part of the building, foyer, and youth room as well. As the project nears completion, we as a congregation are very thankful for the many wonderful volunteers, workers, and committee who contributed to the update project. Our prayer is that many people in our community will come to know Jesus through our church.
